Inaugural TM at TGT

The old theatre at 910 Gladstone, longtime home of the Great Canadian Theatre Company, was re-christened as The Gladstone in September 2008. Over the years, The Gladstone had a couple owners and a number of management structures. In 2016, the ad hoc group of artists that were running the theatre incorporated a new entity whose job it was to take care of the theatre which had become Ottawa’s hub for independent theatre makers. The Gladstone Theatre Inc took over the space in November 2016 and put out a call for the not-for-profit’s first Theatre Manager. By January, I had the keys and got to work establishing best practices, improving workplace safety, creating infrastructure and solidifying The Gladstone as Canada’s busiest theatre!
